Ski and Snowboard with Kids Best Family Ski Resorts 2023 revealed!

The 2023 annual issue of Ski & Snowboard with Kids, Australia’s only family snow travel magazine, is out now and the winners of its annual Best Family Ski Resorts awards have been revealed.

The resorts were judged by a panel of ski experts including Rachael Oakes-Ash (Miss Snow It All), Felicity Moss from Mogul Ski World, Tanya Bacic from Travelplan Ski, Rodney Muller from Skimax, Paul Colby from Burton, Phil Osborn from Snow Travel Expo and our editor, Helen Hayes.

The judges voted across a range of categories for Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Europe, the USA and Canada. The scores for these categories were then used to determine an overall Best Family Ski Resort for each region.

The categories were Best for Beginners, Best for Advanced Families, Best for All-Round Activities, Best Village, Best Freestyle Resort and Best Snow Hotel. We also asked our readers to nominate their favourite resort in each region.

The resorts named as the overall winners in their regions were:

Australia: Thredbo, NSW

New Zealand: Cardrona, South Island

Japan: Rusutsu, Hokkaido

USA: Aspen Snowmass, Colorado

Canada: Whistler Blackcomb, BC

Europe: Courchevel, France

The best snow hotels in each region were:

Australia: Astra Falls Creek, Falls Creek

New Zealand: The Rees Hotel & Luxury Apartments, Queenstown

Japan: Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono, Niseko

USA: Montage Big Sky, Montana + The Little Nell, Aspen, Colorado
