Signature Media has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to produce the Vacations & Travel Essential Guide to Thailand, a 60-page multimedia publication with a focus on sustainability.

Thailand has long been recognised as a welcoming and culturally rich tourism destination. As the country reopens to the world, it is with an even stronger focus on sustainable tourism.

The interactive guide highlights the best of Thailand’s diverse range of enriching, sustainable experiences, from immersive community tours and socially responsible resorts to conservation programs managed by tourism operators throughout the Kingdom.

Edited by passionate eco-warrior and Thailand specialist travel writer, Deborah Dickson-Smith, the multimedia guide also includes insights and recommendations written by official ‘Friends of Thailand’ John Borthwick and Julie Miller.

“It was a joy to work on this guide, bringing together two passions; my love for Thailand – one of my favourite places on Earth, and the opportunity to communicate the importance of living and travelling sustainably,” says Deborah Dickson-Smith.

Contents include:

  • Cultural attractions, experiences and events, from Muay Thai to Loi Krathong.

  • Community-focused tours that sustain traditions and bolster local economies.

  • Conservation projects centred around Thailand’s endangered wildlife.

  • Social enterprises offering tours that support local charitable foundations.

  • Local food from north to south, and where to dine for the best views.

  • Memorable places to stay, from homestays to private island resorts.

  • Wellness experiences, from luxe yoga retreats to medical tourism options.

  • Unique Thai shopping experiences, from market to mall.

The guide also includes videos and 360-degree tours and direct online access to the tours, attractions and resorts featured.

Ms Suladda Sarutilavan, Director at Tourism Authority of Thailand Sydney, says: "Thailand is looking forward to welcoming Australian and New Zealand travellers back again once international travel resumes, in [a] COVID-safe manner. Our suppliers and local communities are ready to welcome you all."
